Good Morning Chester County,

Hoping y’all had a great weekend.

I spent some time at Veg Fest in Phoenixville on Saturday, and, as someone who is not typically the first to spring for vegetarian/vegan food…I was blown away by some of the food they had there.

Of note was Korea Taqueria, a Korean/Mexican fusion joint that served me some birria tofu tacos that I would eat daily if given the chance. (find them on IG @ Korea_taqueria…they’re based in Philly but do catering + events). Tons of other great options/vendors/etc.

My favorite thing about going out to these events we post is finding gems like that, which otherwise…I’d probably never experience.

So here’s your subtle nudge to get out in the wild & try out something new this week 😉

🐶 Meet Candy Land

Seriously…that’s this awesome lady’s name. As sweet as the name suggests, Candy Land is a 4 year old Mastiff who is the true definition of a gentle giant. Very easy on the leash & a complete (oversized) lapdog, she is ready to meet her forever family. Check out the link below & bring her home!

🐱 Meet Grey Reef Shark

Ok…I clearly was going for pets with the most unique names this week.

This handsome little fella is still a kitten, at just 3 months old. About as cute as they come and much like his namesake, he is pretty calm. With some adorable markings you can see where he got the name from. Take your chance on this aquatically-adorned kitten and you’ll be rewarded with a buddy for life.

The Featured Pour

A closer look at the standout event happening this week

This week’s featured event is the 96th Annual Old Fiddler’s Picnic!

When: Saturday (8/9) from 10 AM - 4 PM

Where: Hibernia County Park (Coatesville)

What: You know those days where you just want to hang out, hear some good music, and not worry about a thing? That’s what this event feels like.

You’ll listen to great local musicians all day, picking their guitars and fiddles, playing songs that sound like summer.

The whole family will have things to do, whether it’s face painting or wagon rides for the kids…yard games and local craft vendors for the adults…and a real blacksmith(!?) doing live demonstrations.

When you want a quick break of the music, pop into one of the Hibernia Mansion tours they’re giving throughout the day or grab a quick bite from one of the local food trucks.

It’s the kind of day you’ll remember, no craziness or chaos, just a good time.
