With 4th of July landing on a Friday this week, I hope we’re all feeling patriotic!

A good buddy of mine and I were standing next to our flag earlier last week and he said, “man…we’ve got a good looking flag,” and I’ll wholeheartedly agree.

We’re fortunate to be in this great country of ours, and this week we celebrate it!

There’s a great lineup of events happening with something for everyone. Want to get the kids out into the community? Find some great local live music? Watch some fireworks at the park? Or…maybe you really want to listen to emo music while eating brunch (yeah, keep scrolling). We’ve got you covered.

This week’s featured event is Good Neighbor Day in Downingtown

When: Friday (All day!)

Where: Kerr Park, 1 Downingtown Lane, Downingtown, PA

What: A beloved July 4th tradition, now in it’s 45th year, held in Kerr Park bringing together neighbors for a full day of fun, community spirit, and support for local emergency services. The day features something for everyone…think early morning races, a lively carnival, boat races, a craft fair, and plenty of food from local vendors.

There’s also a cornhole tournament, activities for kids and adults, and a fireworks show to cap off the night.

All proceeds benefit area ambulance and rescue squads, so every bit of fun helps our first responders. Whether you’re running, shopping, or just soaking up the good vibes in the community Good Neighbor Day is the perfect way to celebrate the 4th with the ChesCo community

📍 News You Actually Want To Hear: Newsletter Update(s)

A few weeks ago we featured a poll asking your thoughts on adding an additional email to the weekly newsletter rotation.

Over 60% of you voted in favor, and many of you who voted no were primarily concerned about the potential of the events listings to get diluted.

We will be adding an additional day (in the near* future), and here’s the plan:

• Tuesdays will remain largely the same, focused primarily on the events coming up this coming week.

• Thursdays will be more community-focused...local business spotlights, unique stories from the county, and important updates from throughout the county (think new businesses, important developments, etc.).

But…ChesCo is BIG (759 square miles, to be exact), so I’m not going to promise coverage of each individual area. We’ll have brief updates from different regions throughout the county including:

• 🌆Greater West Chester Area

• 🏙️ Downingtown & Exton Corridor

• 🧭 Phoenixville & Schuylkill Valley

• 🌄 Main Line / Eastern ChesCo

• 🌳 Southern Chester County

• 🐮 The Western Edge

Over time, the goal is to provide more in-depth coverage…but as a family-run operation here we’ll have to grow into better coverage.

Annie, who recently went viral online in our area with her story, has had a life that would thaw even the coldest of hearts. Having endured what is likely a lifetime of abuse before her rescue, Annie here would never let you know it. Sweet as can be, always smiling and ready for her forever family, Annie will make a fantastic addition to whomever decides to bring her home. Do yourself the favor…

Her wide, beautiful eyes will stop you in your tracks, but it’s her bubbly personality that will keep you by her side. Bibi’s filled with a playful spirit that is matched only by her desire for cuddles to recharge, this 11-month old sweetheart is ready to find a forever home.
