Last week we must have collectively forgot to tell the weather what time of year it is.

I don’t know about you, but waking up to 49* temps in the morning in June just…doesn’t feel right.

Things are heating up this week, and with a little bit of luck, the rain will stay away long enough for some of the great events we’ve got going on to go off without a hitch.

🐶 Meet Sweet Pea

Aptly named, the folks at MLAR note just how kind and gentle this big bundle of love is. Being rescued from a commercial breeding facility it’s no wonder that she is a bit hesitant and shy when first meeting new people; however, that distant exterior melts away after getting to know her. Sweet Pea would do best in a low-key home where she can live our her golden years getting all of the love she deserves.

🐱 Meet Gracie

You’ll have a hard time saying “no” to this green-eyed beauty. Having been surrendered when her elderly owner could no longer care for her, Gracie is just waiting for the right person to come by and give her the love she’s clearly used to. Affectionate and kind, her coat is in need of some serious TLC, but she won’t mind as long as you’re there with her. Give Gracie a shot, bring her home today.

A closer look at the standout events happening this week

This week’s featured event is the Hops for Homes Beer Festival supporting Habitat for Humanity of Chester County

When: Saturday, June 14th from 12 - 5 PM

Where: Chester County Art Association located at 100 N Bradford Ave, West Chester, PA 19382.

What: Get ready to sip and support at the 4th Annual Hops for Homes Beer Festival, happening at the Chester County Art Association in West Chester. Hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, this afternoon of fun(draising) brings together 20+ breweries, cideries, distilleries, and wineries for a day of unlimited tastings, great food, live music, and community connection.

Tickets are $45 and include unlimited beer samples from local favorites. The event also features artisan vendors and food trucks, making it a full day hang. Best of all, every ticket purchased helps build affordable housing right here in Chester County. Last year’s festival raised over $24,000, directly impacting families in need of safe and stable homes.

Grab your friends, enjoy a drink, and raise a toast to a great cause.
