I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving and their weekend.

Fueled by copious amounts of leftovers, I managed to snag some good Black Friday deals and shopped local on Saturday.

We’re getting into the time of year where everyone is just a liiiiitle bit nicer. Call it the holiday spirit (or don’t 🤷‍♂️)…whatever it is, I love it.

This week just about every area of the town is lighting their Christmas trees and many are throwing some great events to mark the occasion.

Whether you celebrate or not, you’ll have a blast out there this week.

🐶 Meet Mika

You’re bringing home the total package when you rescue Mika. Described as “intelligent, athletic, and affectionate” she does not shy away from being the center of attention and will give you all of the love you can handle. She’s looking for a home that will give her all of the exercise she needs and wants to receive all of the kisses and lap time she’s ready to give. Don’t let her spend another day at the shelter, you won’t regret it.

🐱 Meet Casper

This week’s adoptable cat may have the ghostly namesake, but I can assure you the only thing it shares in common is his friendly demeanor. Volunteers note that Casper wants nothing more than to find a home he can settle into and give love. He’s the definition of a cuddle bug and is ready to be your new best pal. Give him a chance.

A closer look at the standout event happening this week

This week’s featured event is the Yeagers Farm Holiday Light Show

When: Thursday - Sunday, 5:30 - 8 PM, starting 11/28 and ends 12/30

Where: Yeagers Farm, 1015 Pike Springs Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460

What to expect: If all-things Christmas cheer is your jam, you’ve got to check out Yeager’s farm in Phoenixville this weekend.

The main attraction is their calm, family-friendly light show. It’s a 1.1-mile route spread across 60 acres of displays, and you can enjoy it by hayride or from the comfort of your own car. You set your own pace. Photos never quite capture how big it is, which makes sense once you find out they start setting up in August.

My favorite part was the long line of red and white wrapped trees. It felt like driving straight into Candy Cane Lane.

If you choose to drive through yourself, you can stop for photos, linger at your favorite spots, and really take your time. You can also make a full afternoon out of it by picking out your Christmas tree beforehand and grabbing a photo with Santa. Plan about an hour for the lights, plus a few extra minutes for those photo moments. If you prefer the hayride, bundle up and bring a thermos of hot cocoa or cider, or grab something warm from the farm market.

Yeagers is a family-run farm that has been part of this area for more than 200 years. An evening here feels like a quieter, gentler start to the season. It’s a great fit for families, grandparents, and anyone who wants a peaceful holiday night close to home.
