What was the first Halloween costume you have a memory of wearing? 🎃

I have a vivid memory of a black ninja costume with gold foil accents, foam nunchucks, and black sneakers. Yeah, I looked awesome.

Behind the mask was a child who was ready to brave even the scariest of decorated houses for the ultimate prize…a Reese’s cup.

Whether you’ll be trotting along behind your trick or treater, manning the door, or hanging in/out for the night I hope everyone has a great Halloween weekend.

🤔 ChesCo Trivia Recap

Last week we asked what is the oldest standing covered bridge in Chester County.

The correct answer was the Sheeder-Hall Bridge, which was built in 1850!

I, for one, was unaware of the following that the covered bridges throughout ChesCo had, but there’s quite a fan club of people across the country who travel to visit them.

Right now is the perfect time to take a look with the leaves changing.

🐶 Meet Bagel

Part Beagle, part Chihuahua, all lovebug. This spunky four year old comes from a mysterious past. Found as a stray in Philly, not too much is known about him other than he’s leaving some tougher days behind. Like many stray rescues, he needs a short period to acclimate to people, but once you have his trust you’re in for a treat. He gets along well with other dogs and is ready for a family who is looking to add the perfect pint-size-pup into their life.

🐱 Meet Lucy

If you are looking for the cat that’s looks can only be bested by their winning personality, congrats, you’ve found your match. With striking markings and a 10/10 personality, Lucy here is your gal if you’re ready to bring a new feline friend into your home.

A closer look at the standout event happening this week

This week’s featured event is the Good Food Fest hosted by Growing Roots Partners

When: Sunday, 11/2/2025, 11 AM - 4 PM

Where: Kimberton Fairgrounds - 762 Pike Springs Road, Phoenixville, PA

What to expect: Good Food Fest (GFF) may be my favorite event of the fall in Chester County.

It is a celebration of local food and agriculture across the Greater Philly area, something that is at the core of Chester County’s identity.

Eat some great local food/drink from the 20+ different food trucks & tasting room options, get a head start on early shopping for the holidays with gifts from 100+ local makers, and learn some new recipes at the demo kitchen going on all day.

No matter what you’re looking for, GFF is a day of fun for everyone in the family. Good vibes, great eats, and a positive crowd make for a day you’ll enjoy thoroughly.

I left the event last year with a full belly, an empty wallet (worth it), and a new appreciation for all of the local makers in our community.

Check it out, you won’t regret it.
